The Horizon CE6.0 Elliptical Trainer – Above Par at this Price

Horizon has built a solid reputation on providing good equipment at reasonable prices, and the Horizon CE6.0 elliptical trainer is one example of why this strategy can work. Although some elliptical reviews will argue that this machine isn’t top quality, the value you get for your money makes it a serious contender for the average user.

What You Get

If you like a stylish machine with a few extras like adjustable stride and plenty of resistance levels, the Horizon CE6.0 elliptical trainer is a good investment.

It’s also an attractive machine if looks are important to you. A stylish console and the low profile are both treats that deliver function – it’s easy to get on and off of a Horizon elliptical. It’s also fairly compact and offers an adjustable stride path, which is ideal if more than one person in your family will be using it.

Even serious athletes have a healthy respect for the Horizon CE6.0 because it has extra features that make it a versatile elliptical. Twenty levels of resistance and an adjustable stride length mean you can develop an almost infinite variety of workout routines, and the ten pre-set programs are challenging.

Users say it’s relatively quiet and, while not as fluid as a gymnasium machine, the Horizon CE6.0 is certainly above par for an elliptical trainer in this price range.

In-home users like the stride adjustment feature on the Horizon CE6.0; it makes it easy for someone 5’ tall and someone over 6’ to each get a comfortable workout.

Most users have reported that it’s quiet enough to use even when someone in the same room is watching television. The low profile was appreciated, especially by women or shorter individuals.

Our Thoughts

Horizon CE6.0 Pedals

We think the Horizon CE6.0 elliptical trainer is a very good machine for the money. At $999, you may not get a professional quality machine, but you’re getting darn close to it for the price. Features like the adjustable stride are rare on machines in this price range. The console is one of the most intuitive and elegant ones we’ve seen anywhere, and it does perform well.

Twenty levels of resistance and several pre-set programs mean you can vary your workout easily. The resistance settings can take you from beginner to serious runner easily at the touch of a button.

The warranty is above average for this price point. A lifetime warranty on the brakes and frame is a selling point – brake problems are the most common complaint with elliptical trainers in this price range. The limited, one year warranty on parts and labor is on the low side, but you can probably get several good years out of the Horizon CE6.0 without any major problems.

This is an elliptical that gives you a lot of bang for your buck. If you’ve been searching for a machine that is suitable for two or more users without paying a fortune, the Horizon CE6.0 elliptical trainer is a good choice.
