Value is hard to find in machines under $700, which is why the ProForm 890E elliptical is such a delightful steal when you can get it on sale. When this $999 MSRP machine drops into the lower price class of $699, it blows away the competition.
The backlit Grafixx™ high-resolution display tracks speed, time, distance, pulse and calories burned. The ProForm 890E elliptical features 24 workouts including 14 performance programs and 6 weight loss workouts at the touch of a button.
The interactive iFit® Workout Card Technology will help you get in shape in just 8 weeks. The workouts on the cards (sold separately) are available in Weight Loss, Wellness, Circuit Training, and Performance categories for result-specifics fitness options.

UPDATE: The 890E has been discontinued and replaced with the new SmartStrider Series. You can check out all of the new models here.
The list of components and features on the Proform 890E elliptical is usually found on pricier machines costing $1299 or more, including, a 10 to 30-degree Power Ramp which increases and decreases the incline, and modifies the stride length from 18"- 20", in order to stimulate more muscle groups.
The 890E has a large user weight capacity of 325 lbs, 20 resistance levels, 24 pre-set programs, an iPod® plug-in port and built-in sound system, hand grip sensors, and is compatible with iFit® cards.
While it isn’t a Cadillac elliptical by any means, for the price you pay the ProForm 890E offers more value than other machines priced around $700. Elliptical reviews praise the adjustable resistance, cooling fan, decent sound system, iPod dock, and especially the 30-degree incline as well as the large, stable footprint.
ProForm elliptical trainers are made by Icon Fitness, the same parent company that makes NordicTrack.
This 890E looks like a NordicTrack, and has many of the same features and components, for example the 18"- 20" adjustable stride length and 30° power ramp, is the same design as you find installed on the NordicTracks.
The only difference is the brand name and cosmetics. The ProForm does not have the new Fit® Live feature, but no matter; it costs hundreds of dollars less than the NTs. Sale priced at an eye-popping $649, the ProForm 890E elliptical is a Good Buy.
