The ProForm Pro 9.9 is one of the newest ellipticals in the company's popular lineup, replacing the former Pro 9.0 NE and adding new, exciting features.
The Pro 9.9 is built from commercial-grade solid steel, black and silver with red accents. It features a 6" backlit display, showing all of your workouts stats including time, heart rate, calories, speed, distance and more.
Let's look at the some of the best features...
UPDATE: The Pro 9.9 has been discontinued and replaced with the all new Carbon Series models. Check out the latest ProForm elliptical reviews here.
-----------------
Early reviews on the Pro 9.9 are very positive, as this elliptical improves upon the previous Pro 9.0 NE in so many ways, yet the price tag is still the same.
You get the same quiet, smooth SMR resistance and good-sized 28lb. flywheel. You also get the same incline capability and dual heart rate monitor.
Everywhere else, the 9.9 is a huge improvement over the previous models. You now get 24 resistance levels instead of 22, 32 built in workouts instead of 28, a 21" stride instead of 20", a 6" backlit display instead of 5" and a higher weight capacity of 350 lbs. instead of 325 lbs.
All of this while keeping the same price of $999 when it's on sale, and you've got yourself one incredible entry level elliptical trainer.
It's also equipped with iFit, which gives you access to even more workouts designed by certified trainers, workout tracking so you can monitor your progress, and best of all, Google map integration which allows you to choose any location in the world while the elliptical automatically adjusts its incline to match it.
iFit requires a small monthly/yearly fee to use it, but it is well worth it for what you are getting.
Some other features worth noting: the 9.9 comes fully assembled right out of the box, you get adjustable oversized pedals, there's a CoolAire workout fan, water bottle holder and transport wheels.
The ProForm Pro 9.9 will likely be a very big seller as it ticks all of the boxes and is very affordable. Rarely do you get all of these features and capabilities for under $1000.
The only thing missing really is the touch screen, but that is available on the up-level Pro 12.9 (7" display) and Pro 16.9 (10" display).
Note: In early 2021 both the Pro 12.9 and Pro 16.9 were discontinued in favor of the all new Pro E14, the most advanced ProForm elliptical yet!
You really can't go wrong with the new ProForm Pro 9.9. For under $1000 you are getting incline, a ton of workouts, a generous stride, a lot of resistance levels, easy assembly, iFit technology and a generous warranty.
For a few hundred more you could get a touch screen display (Pro E14), but if you're fine with just using your smart phone or tablet, the 9.9 will save you some money.
All in all, we can confidently recommend the new 9.9 as a very solid entry level machine packed with features that will make your workouts both enjoyable and effective.
